Suzy Sikorski — Founder & Director of Mid East Art
Suzy Sikorski is an art specialist based in Dubai and Riyadh, known for her work in promoting Middle Eastern modern and contemporary art. She is the Founder and Director of Mid East Art, a platform she established in 2017 to document, archive, and share the stories of artists from the MENA region through interviews, public programs, and curated projects.
Originally from New York, Sikorski graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a major in Middle East Studies and completed her thesis on Emirati pioneer Hassan Sharif (1951–2016).
In 2016, she was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to conduct independent research on UAE art history. During this period, she volunteered at galleries and interviewed pioneering UAE artists — work that became the foundation for Mid East Art’s mission.
Following her Fulbright tenure, Sikorski joined Christie’s in Dubai in 2017, specializing in Middle Eastern 20th- and 21st-century art. She now serves as Business Development Director, Middle East for Bonhams, working across art and luxury to expand the region’s global presence.
Beyond her professional roles, Sikorski is passionate about uncovering and sharing the rich histories of Middle Eastern art. She has conducted over 150 artist interviews, including her “Artists in Quarantine” series, offering insights into creative processes and personal narratives.
She has participated in panels at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston), The Courtauld Institute (London), Misk Art Foundation (Riyadh), Qatar Foundation (Doha), and Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (Dubai), among others.
Her articles have appeared in Canvas, Harper’s Bazaar Art Arabia, ArtAsiaPacific, Tribe, and The National, and she has contributed artist biographies to Oxford University Press’s Benezit Dictionary of Artists.
